I am amazed..... WHY THIS IS NOT IN THE TOP TEN THINGS!!!!! Let me summerize this program be warned this might be very short IT IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Clearly the best FREE DJ program I have come acrossed Forget what I put on the ratings I give it a 10/5 Please this is not a time waster, or a simple DJ. Please give it a try.

by far the best free DJ program. But only 4 starts because the only thing missing is the ability for duel audio output. One for headphones to be able to hear the next song and the other for the master. There should be an option to enable a USB sound card as well as the built-in jack. Add this and this would have everything you need!

let me just say this app is awesome!! way better than virtual dj. but i wish we could get all of the effects. are those just in the full version?

how can a program that is made for mac not support the mac m4a file format.

In my first review I gave this a 3 star rating, why? Because I was to quick to judge and with little experience in the Dj world. After all if you are a World Class Dj you would not be looking at a free version would you? In my first review I claimed the program did not check off songs I have previously played. I did not realize I needed to create new playlists within the cross dj program or how simple it is to do so. For instance I have a "dance mix" on iTunes, all you need to do is highlight all songs, right click and add to "new playlist". I have several playlists and some of the same songs are on more than one playlist, however once you played the song it will be checked off of all playlists and this is a huge plus! The Cross DJ remote also works well once you figure it out and Cross Dj for iPad is also excellent. I prefer Cross DJ over Vertual DJ because the playlist section is to small and hard to read and will not play many older iTunes songs that were purchased before copyright was included. Mostly all .69 to .99 songs will not play on Vertual Dj. This does not seam to be an issue with Cross Dj… I am blown away by some of the comments. Please remember this is offered to you for FREE! I have also purchased the full version for 49.99 and well worth it so please check back for my review.

For those who are having problems with no audio output, go to File -> Preferences -> Audio and change the output device to the correct destination. For me it defaulted to AirPlay for some reason. Pros: This app is extremely feature rich for being free. Pitch matching, measure sync, and so much information output that Im actually a wee bit overloaded. It also runs really smooth. Im impressed that it correctly parses the iTunes XML file to instantly show my song library, unlike some other apps which insist on scanning the file structure. Support for different bindings on different keyboards is awesome. Cons: Preferences is on the File menu instead of the Application menu, making it easy to overlook. This makes for a confusing first use, since it doesnt default to the built in audio out and its not clear how to fix that. Interface is very daunting and not newbie friendly; if you dont know how to DJ already then the purpose of most of the controls will completely illude you. Could REALLY benefit from a tutorial. The chosen star graphics for the itunes playlists are too bright and lack contrast, making them hard to read at a glance. Could also benefit by some different fonts, the text in the collection pane is way too large.

The new update deleted all my presets and cues. I like the older layout better….

I just updated to CrossDJ 2.3.1 and it will not open. I have force quit several times and restarted my computer. I am uninstalling CrossDJ.

Its very professional and completely works perfectly. I love this app. The only reason it didnt give it 5*s is because there either isnt a record button or its not easily found.

Ive been using this app everyday its so amazing mixer app. its cool to be able to look back and see what ive been working for. its really Great <3

I was looking for a DJ App to use on a Macbook without a controller. Downloaded everything I could find under $5… and this is easliy the cleanest and easiest to use for this purpose. I can see outgrowing it, buying a controller, and upgrading to the paid version.

I have a big interest in music, so before i bought all DJ items, i used this. I love this its amazing! Best DJ app ever!!!

Great mixer! It is easy to use and works very well. Im so happy I think I will upgrade to the paid for the extra features. Nice job!

Excellent Beatgrid editing tools. Great sampling, looping, and effects features. Optional horizontal Head-Up Display and master out limiter. Nice internal recording options. Lots of interface customization. which make Cross DJ a very powerful and professional music tool. The only problem for me is a couple of playback bugs during performance.

This new update made it so it wont work. FIX IT.

The current version does not agree with Yosemite at all. Ever since the upgrade none of my DJ software is able to access the music in my iTunes library, effectively rendering them all useless.

“file not found” for every track in my iTunes library.
